Conducting HMM Marathi Shala and teaching our children Marathi would not be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteer teachers (who dedicate 4-5 years per week to Marathi Shala), and to our parent volunteers, who too are committed to helping the teachers and coordinators in various tasks throughout the year.
We often need volunteers in the following areas:
Arts and Crafts | Shala Projects | Event Management | Website Maintenance | Substitute Teacher | Homework Assistance | Shala Library
We are now accepting Student Volunteers for certain activities and Shala events at HMM Marathi Shala. These volunteering opportunities can earn local middle and high school students volunteer hours from HMM Marathi Shala. There are a few important points to note:
Age group for middle and high school student volunteers is 13-17 years
Students should be fluent in reading, writing and communicating in Marathi
Students should have attended Marathi Shala for 4 years in total (in Houston or in the US or in India)
